We do not receive or store your full credit card or payment card information for purchases made through Apple's App Store. App Store payments are processed by Apple.

3. How We Collect Information

We collect information in several ways:

  • Information you provide directly: such as when you create an account, enter portfolio information, update your account information, or contact support.
  • Information collected automatically: such as authentication, session, usage, and analytics information generated when you use the Services.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: we may use service providers that assist with hosting, database infrastructure, email delivery, analytics, security, and operation of the Services. They may process information on our behalf only as necessary to provide their services.
  • Apple: information relating to App Store subscriptions may be exchanged with Apple as necessary to process, verify, restore, and manage subscription purchases.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information where we reasonably believe disclosure is required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

We require service providers that receive personal information from us to protect that information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy, applicable law, and their contractual obligations.

6. Apple Subscriptions and Payment Information

Purchases of Margin subscriptions through the App Store are processed by Apple. We may receive subscription and transaction information from Apple so that we can verify purchases and determine whether your Margin account is entitled to subscription features.

This may include transaction identifiers, subscription product information, subscription status, and expiration or renewal information.

We do not receive or store your full credit card number or other full payment card details for App Store purchases.

7. Analytics

We collect usage and analytics information to understand how the Services are used, identify problems, evaluate features, improve performance, and improve the overall user experience.

Analytics information may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf. Where required by applicable law, we will provide appropriate choices or obtain appropriate consent for such processing.

8. Authentication and Session Data

We use authentication and session information to verify your identity, keep you signed in, secure your account, and prevent unauthorized access.

Authentication information such as access and refresh tokens should be treated as confidential. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect authentication information from unauthorized access or disclosure.

9. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain your account, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, and enforce our agreements.

You may delete your Margin account using the account deletion feature available within the application. When your account is deleted, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize personal information associated with the account, except where we are required or permitted to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, dispute resolution, or other legitimate purposes.

Deleting your Margin account does not automatically cancel an active subscription purchased through Apple. App Store subscriptions must be managed or cancelled through your Apple Account.

10. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information that we maintain about you.

Where our processing of personal information is based on consent, you may also have the right to withdraw that consent, subject to applicable legal or contractual restrictions. Withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide certain features of the Services.

We may need to verify your identity before processing certain privacy requests.

You may also contact us if you have a question or complaint regarding our privacy practices.

11. Children's Privacy

Margin is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without the consent or authorization required by applicable law.

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child in circumstances where appropriate consent was required and was not obtained, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

12. International Data Transfers

Personal information may be stored or processed in countries other than the country or province in which you live. As a result, information may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is processed and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, or governmental authorities in accordance with those laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page.

If changes materially affect how we collect, use, or disclose personal information, we will provide any additional notice or obtain any additional consent required by applicable law.
